 |
| This
version of Quinto® is strategically
challenging and defensive in nature because it limits the
playing board by prohibiting the use of any spaces containing
hearts. The standard rules of Quinto 500®
apply, except: |
 |
| 1. |
No chip is placed
on any space containing hearts. |
|
| 2. |
No heart card(s)
may comprise a Quinto. |
|
| 3. |
The King of Hearts
may not be used to remove opposing pieces found on heart
spaces. If the King of Hearts is left in any player's
hand at the end of the game, the player is penalized
20 points. |
|
| 4. |
If a player wishes
to forfeit his turn, the player may discard any number
of hearts during his turn and draw new replacement cards
from the draw pile. The player must replace the
discarded cards with the same number of replacement
cards. For example, if three "heart"
cards are discarded, three new cards should be drawn
from the draw pile. If toward the end of the game, the
draw pile does not contain enough replacement cards,
the player can replace only the number of cards left
in the draw pile. |
|
| 5. |
At the end of the
game, subtract the value of any of the heart cards left
in a players hand from the score for that round of play
as follows: heart face cards and aces = minus 10 points,
King of Hearts = minus 20 points, all other heart cards
= minus 5 points. |
|
| 6. |
The first team to
reach 500 points wins the game. |
|
| Hints |
 |
|
Try to discard
the heart cards early when replacement cards
are available in the draw pile. |
| |
|
Carefully
observe the board to avoid working on a prohibited
Quinto (i.e., Quintos with hearts). |
